DID SANTA BRING YOU AN iPAD?
DID SANTA BRING YOU AN iPAD?
By William Thomas
Did Santa bring you an iPad? Or the latest cell phone with more menus than the Ritz? Maybe you scored one of those new ultra-long-range portable phones that can reach out for miles. Or even cooler, a little netbook with wireless online storage.
Welcome to the cull. Even as the rise of Screen Culture dovetails perfectly with the Culture of Denial, Dr. Devra Davis, an environmental health specialist and author of Disconnect, calls the thickening invisible smog of wireless radiation "the most important and unrecognized public health issues of our time." This MD warns of "a global catastrophe" unless we act to remove these radiation sources. "For such a risk to show up in cell phone users within 10 years given what we know about brain tumours, which is that they can have a latency of 40 years, is deeply, deeply disturbing," she says. [LemonDrop.com Nov 9/10] The Brain Cancer Pandemic is happening right now. And there is an even bigger threat. Lead researcher Lloyd Morgan says there could be a 'brain tumour pandemic' soon. Why? Because people who talk on cell or portable phones are up to five-times more likely to develop brain tumours than those who stick to landlines. [Daily Mail June 15/10] Paul Doyon was recently telling his Chinese students that there is going to be a brain tumour epidemic in the next 5-10 years. He asked them "How long have you had a cell phone?" Answers were: "five years," "seven years". One of his students had missed five classes. When he asked her why, she replied, "Because I have a brain tumour." [ic-esp.com May 15/09] Every year, there are 183,000 more brian cancer cases in the U.S. alone. In 2010 there were as many as 500,000 new cases of cell phone-induced brain tumors worldwide. In Zapped: Why Your Cell Phone Shouldn't Be Your Alarm Clock and 1,268 Ways to Outsmart the Hazards of Electronic Pollution, Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman - author of 31 other books on health and nutrition - relates her own cell phone epiphany:
"I started seeing a litany of common symptoms like major headaches, light sensitivity, fatigue, skin problems, dizziness and a major lack of energy, among people who were doing everything right. They were either on a wireless computer very frequently, living on their cell phones or were even working from their home office with a mobile phone," Dr. Gittleman recently told an interviewer.
"But what really gets me concerned is that a lot of the cell phones are being advertised to kids."
The cell phones used by at least half of Earth's present population are just the advance "micro-wave" of a massive and growing invasion of electromagnetic emitters that threaten to overwhelm the subtle cellular whisperings of all electro-chemically-based life on this planet. What we need is for someone to collate decades of scientific study and lay out "just the facts, please." Even better, since we're so distracted: Just lay out the known odds of winning or losing at wireless roulette. And what we can do to improve those odds.
To help you make an informed choice about owning and using your own wireless radiating gadgets, I have searched my own files of 1,520 cell phone and wireless articles, two books dealing in part or in whole with this issue, the most recent top scientific "meta-studies" examining all medical reports, clinical trials and other studies dealing with electromagnetic radiation and wireless radiation effects - and outlined the risks you face in snuggling with technologies about as "safe" as hugging a viper to your bosom. (Literally for wireless women courting breast cancer.)
