HOW TO LIMIT YOUR WIRELESS EXPOSURE

DID SANTA BRING YOU AN iPAD?

DID SANTA BRING YOU AN iPAD?

By William Thomas

Did Santa bring you an iPad? Or the latest cell phone with more menus than the Ritz? Maybe you scored one of those new ultra-long-range portable phones that can reach out for miles. Or even cooler, a little netbook with wireless online storage.

Welcome to the cull.

Even as the rise of Screen Culture dovetails perfectly with the Culture of Denial, Dr. Devra Davis, an environmental health specialist and author of Disconnect, calls the thickening invisible smog of wireless radiation "the most important and unrecognized public health issues of our time."

This MD warns of "a global catastrophe" unless we act to remove these radiation sources. "For such a risk to show up in cell phone users within 10 years given what we know about brain tumours, which is that they can have a latency of 40 years, is deeply, deeply disturbing," she says. The Brain Cancer Pandemic is happening right now.

And there is an even bigger threat.

Lead researcher Lloyd Morgan says there could be a 'brain tumour pandemic' soon. Why? Because
people who talk on cell or portable phones are up to five-times more likely to develop brain tumours than those who stick to landlines. [Daily Mail June 15/10]

Paul Doyon was recently telling his Chinese students that there is going to be a brain tumour epidemic in the next 5-10 years. He asked them "How long have you had a cell phone?" Answers were: "five years," "seven years". One of his students had missed five classes. When he asked her why, she replied, "Because I have a brain tumour." [ic-esp.com May 15/09]

Every year, there are 183,000 more brian cancer cases in the U.S. alone. In 2010 there were as many as 500,000 new cases of cell phone-induced brain tumors worldwide.

In Zapped: Why Your Cell Phone Shouldn't Be Your Alarm Clock and 1,268 Ways to Outsmart the Hazards of Electronic Pollution, Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman - author of 31 other books on health and nutrition - relates her own cell phone epiphany:

"I started seeing a litany of common symptoms like major headaches, light sensitivity, fatigue, skin problems, dizziness and a major lack of energy, among people who were doing everything right. They were either on a wireless computer very frequently, living on their cell phones or were even working from their home office with a mobile phone," Dr. Gittleman recently told an interviewer.

"Normally cancer may take up to 40 years to develop, so it's a slow-growing thing. And the fact that so many users are developing brain cancer after 10 years shows that something is going on because of the frequency of use and the severity of use. So it's becoming much more frequent. Everybody knows at least three or four people with some sort of cancer, whether it's a brain tumor or a parotid gland tumor or an auditory gland tumor.

"But what really gets me concerned is that a lot of the cell phones are being advertised to kids."

The cell phones used by at least half of Earth's present population are just the advance "micro-wave" of a massive and growing invasion of electromagnetic emitters that threaten to overwhelm the subtle cellular whisperings of all electro-chemically-based life on this planet.

Modern wireless devices, including but not limited to portable phones, wireless computers, wireless routers, smart utility meters airport scanners - operate on the same or higher frequencies and power levels as cell phones.

All emit radiation. And its effect on DNA and living tissue is exactly the same as the radiation released by depleted uranium weapons and the still-leaking sarcophagus at Chernobyl.

If you want to sum up the myriad dangers of wireless technology in a single word, here it is:

Radiation.

If you want to demonstrate its effects, just before you cut the cord close to the casing of your microwave oven, flip it on one last time and microwave a chunk of butchered flesh. Then examine that chicken leg under an electron microscope. You will see that its molecular structure has changed and is no longer recognizable as "food" by the human body's freaked out immune system. (Or click here.)

That's another word we're all familiar with that is precisely accurate in describing the effects of wireless emissions on living tissue:

Microwaved.

You would think that these two words would give almost everyone pause before activating one of these personal microwave radiation devices. But addiction over-rides all other considerations.

Look a compulsive texters who send and receive hundreds of text messages every day - and most of every night. Check out people who are always on their cell phones making - as researchers have discovered - mostly unnecessary calls.

Addiction is the handmaid of denial. Which is why so many ignore the 21st disease called "Compulsive Communicating" that validates our importance through constant phone chats, texting and online social networking - while "users" get another fix of dopamine, an opiate stronger than cocaine that is released in the brain every time we make or take a wireless call.

Maybe we can rally our besieged rational mind to take an objective look at the facts - more particularly, the odds of suffering grievous harm if we persist in using wireless laptops (or their smaller cousins) on our unprotected laps, cell phones, portable phones and wireless routers at home and at work, iPads, Kindles and wireless game pads - while we pass like shorn sheep through airport scanners, or allow emanations from nearby cell phone towers and utility "smart meters" to pass thorugh us without protest.

While headline news in European nations, which are moving to reduce these threats, at best only some of the information that follows is sporadically noted in North American newspapers, magazines and network Teevee - before being quickly contradicted by rigged industry "studies" and dangerously obsolete government "safety" standards.

What we need is for someone to collate decades of scientific study and lay out "just the facts, please."

Even better, since we're so distracted: Just lay out the known odds of winning or losing at wireless roulette. And what we can do to improve those odds.

To help you make an informed choice about owning and using your own wireless radiating gadgets, I have searched my own files of 1,520 cell phone and wireless articles, two books dealing in part or in whole with this issue, the most recent top scientific "meta-studies" examining all medical reports, clinical trials and other studies dealing with electromagnetic radiation and wireless radiation effects - and outlined the risks you face in snuggling with technologies about as "safe" as hugging a viper to your bosom. (Literally for wireless women courting breast cancer.)

If you habitually use wireless devices, here is your personal risk scorecard based on the best medical evidence first discovered in the 1950s - and well-known in medical, scientific and technical communities since 1971. Please See: YOU BET YOUR LIFE
